Olympic Inpsired Shoes.

Pre-Olympic fever delivered a whole range of fashion. Now that the Olympics have started, will designers be influenced by what they see in Beijing? I say yes. The Olympic Opening Ceremony was sure to have inspired some outrageous new design ideas in fashion and gadgets and even toys.

First out the box are these one-off DJ Clark Kent sneakers called “Beijing 2008 And The Winner Is…” They are Nike Air Force Ones that make use of the metallic trilogy of gold, silver and bronze reflected on the Olympic podiums.

Pink Zebra-Print Sneakers.

These pink Nike Women’s Greco wrestling shoes feature a marbled pink zebra colorway. They’ve been released just in time for Easter, making these sneakers the third pink pair of Nikes that we’ve featured this week alone.

Check out the Nike Women’s Greco wrestling shoes in the gallery above, and be sure to check out Nike’s other pastel pink sneakers in the related articles below.

NIKE WOMEN'S QI PAO PACK

The days of shoe companies releasing regular shoes are dead and gone. Even as a sneakerhead, I am sort of tired of every pair of sneakers released being labeled as “exclusive.” However, every now and then there is an actual story behind the release of a buzz worthy pair of kicks.

The Nike Qi Pao Pack featuring the women’s Blazer mid and the women’s Terminator low are being released for a reason. The designs were based on Chinese Qi Pao dresses (aka Cheongsams). Qi Pao dresses were introduced internationally at the 1933 World Expo. This year’s World Expo is in Shanghai.

All I Want for Christmas is the Air Jordan XI!.

SPACE JAM!

So for me Christmas will come early this year. Well two days earlier but that is technically still early, especially for someone who has no patience. The reason is because the Air Jordan XI’s Space Jam edition will be released on December 23rd. Just like Star Wars movies, Black Friday, and American Idol contestants, people will be camping outside for their shot at getting one, two, three or fifteen pairs of these kicks. The reason is hands down the Air Jordan XI is the most sought after shoe. This shoe is the one that was in the movie Space Jam that MJ did with the Looney Tunes gang. I think it won the Oscars for Best Picture, Best Screenplay and best song by R. Kelly, I “believe I can Fly.” To people who aren’t sneaker heads reading this, you are probably saying who in their right mind camps out for shoes?

Well my answer to those people, it’s not just Turtle from Entourage. Ever since I got my first pair or AJ’s I was hooked. I even got married in the Air Jordan XI’s black and red colorway. I have about 70 pairs of AJ’s and 7 SC Trainer’s (Bo Jackson’s shoe from Nike). Again you might say, “70 PAIRS OF SHOES? THAT’S INSANE!” Well to that I answer everyone has their thing, for me one of them is collecting Air Jordans and the occasional SC Trainer. Plus in the sneaker head world 70 pairs of shoes is not a lot!

This year the Space Jam XI will wrap up a great year for sneaker heads. Below are some of the shoes that were released this year that were hot and not only got my attention but the sneaker head world.

SC Trainer

I had to get the original colorway that came out this year. It was the orange, blue and white that I had back in the sixth grade. This was Bo Jackson’s signature shoe. Plus Nike also released the other color from back in the day, the Raiders edition that had Bo’s Raiders jersey number on the back.

The Nike Air ½ Penny

The design of the sneaker includes various details taken from all of the Nike Air Penny signature sneakers to make up one model known as the 1/2 Cent. All you Lil Penny fans have something to cheer about here as well, as Nike has included a headshot of Lil Penny on the sole of the sneakers.

The Air Jordan 2009 (aka the Air Jordan 24)

After the Air Jordan 23, Nike decided to just call the Air Jordan by the year it came out. Yes I got this one as well.

The Nike Air Trainer III

This was the shoe that Bo Jackson wore before he had the SC Trainer. Nike came out with many colorways with this shoe this year.

The Air Max 90

Can you tell I am a Nike guy? Most of the shoes that were great from back in the day were made by Nike and if it aint broke then don’t fix it and resell the shoe!

The Nike Griffey Max 1s

This was Ken Griffey’s show when he was on the Mariners and Nike came out with many colorways just like the Air Max 90 and Air Trainers.

The Air Max 95

The Air Max 95 was based on the human anatomy, with the spine of the shoe resembling the human spine and the original materials to represent skin. Not only did the shoe have a huge price tag back in the day….it still has one hefty price. It really didn’t matter because this is one of most popular shoe in the Air Max series. These shoes are sick but I was never able to find them to purchase.

The Air Jordan V package

One of my favorite of the Air Jordans. You might have see the Fresh Prince of Bel rock these babies back in the day. The Retro V package came with two AJ V’s. One all red and the other black and red. It’s for the sneaker head when one pair of Air Jordans just won’t do.

Nike Air Max+ 2010 – Air Attack Pack.

Nike Air Max+ 2010 Air Attack Pack

How could the massive Nike Air Attack Pack get any bigger? Simple: just add in the newest of all Swoosh runners in neck-breaking colorways. Here are the Nike Air Max+ 2010s from the Air Attack Pack, a collection that straddles the line dividing the previous colorways we saw. On one hand, you’ve got 4 black pairs with a single accent shade, similar to the AM2009s in this pack, and on the other, an all-yellow 2010 with shades of the monotonal Air Max 1s. With Air Max 90s on the way later this summer, it’s safe to say that 2010 will be remembered for this sprawling collection. Take a look at some detailed pictures after the jump and stick with Sneaker News in case there are even more!

Nike Air Max Hyperize – Richard Jefferson Spurs PEs.

Nike Air Max Hyperize Richard Jefferson Spurs PEs

It’s an even-numbered year, so they’re probably not going to win the title, but the San Antonio Spurs charged into the playoffs with that veteran knowledge of when to really play hard. Their new swingman Richard Jefferson knows a thing or two about the postseason as well, having lost three NBA Finals with New Jersey, including 2003 versus you-know-who. Now that RJ’s a Spur, though, he’s gotta look the part, and that’s where these Nike Air Max Hyperize PEs come in. Both are done in the typically-subdued Spurs style, with a mostly black pair for away games and white joints for their AT&T Center games. Check out shots of both pairs after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for more NBA Playoffs Player Exclusive sneakers. via Nike BB

Air Jordan II (2) Premio – BIN23 Collection | Release Reminder

Air Jordan II (2) Premio BIN23 Collection | Release Reminder

When the Air Jordan first arrived, it was viewed as a rebellious brand due to its use of designs and colors not seen on sneakers before its time. The NBA went as far as implementing a monetary fine against Michael Jordan, citing a violation of league policy. Since then, Jordan Brand has had a particular aura that some describe as progressive, others as elitist. Twenty five years later, the label that immortalized Michael Jordan in the world of footwear continues its premier legacy with the introduction of the Jordan Brand BIN23 Collection.

The first release of this commemorative capsule is the Air Jordan II, the classic silhouette in which Michael Jordan won his first ever NBA Slam Dunk Contest. The red stamped BIN23 insignia certifies this Air Jordan II as part of the premier group; accompanying the high-end motif is a limited distribution, as only 1097 individually numbered pairs of the Air Jordan II Premio BIN23 will be released, complete with wooden toe inserts, individual shoe bags and more. These will drop at only a few choice Air Jordan accounts, with the exact details on the release being kept pretty quiet. We know for a fact that they’ll be hitting Exta Butter, but keep an eye out to see if the BIN23 Air Jordan II will make an appearance at your local spot.
