Back at the start of the month, Converse released a new distressed denim pair of Chucks that had us recalling the fact they were the first denim All Stars released in quite a while. Apparently someone at the One Star also realized the relative dearth of models crafted in the world’s most popular durable cotton material, so without further ado, the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star OX Denim Pack. This duo adds bold contrast stitching, leather details and rivets, including a ‘pocket’ on the heel to drive home the theme. Sneaker Con NYC June 2011 – Event Recap.

Earlier today Sneaker News gave you a nice ‘Feet’ recap of the event, showing you all the hot sneaker selections worn by some of the 2,000+ eventgoers. Here’s a full event recap of Sneaker Con NYC June 2011, providing you a first-hand look at the overall atmosphere of the biggest sneaker event known to man. adidas Originals was in the house once again, with an oversized adidas Superstar there for viewing (and signing) and a nice showcase of its upcoming releases. Of course, all of the visual highlights came from the event-goers themselves, who brought massive amounts of heat on their feet, in bags, and on vendor tables. It was the perfect way to end the school year and kick off the summer, because summer-time in NYC is the best time to rock the freshest kicks, and not to our surprise, the NYC natives came through with some heat. Jordan Team ISO 2 Quai 54

Earlier today Sneaker News gave you release information on the Jordan Brand Quai 54 Pack, which included the Air Jordan V and the all-new Jordan Team ISO 2. The Jordan Team ISO 2, the obvious successor to the Jordan Team ISO (included in last year’s Quai 54 releases), features a similar mid-cut construction as the original, but with a re-tooled upper; a triangular breathable mesh panel is located at the central portion of the shoe, with additional ventilation by the ankle. The midsole features a grey/black granite speckling and a radiant green stripe at the base of the midsole. These have dropped overseas in Europe already, but stay tuned to a U.S. release this July 2nd. via FootLockerEU.

Nike Sky Force ’88 Mid – Red Nylon Sample on eBay

Earlier this month Sneaker News gave you a look at the Nike Sky Force ’88 Mid Vintage Pack, which featured tonal nylon uppers and Nike’s trademark ‘Vintage’ treatment. One of those colorways features a rich tonal red nylon, much like this sample your see here, but there are some clear differences between the two. This sample version utilizes a red midsole and swoosh, and a hiking-boot like lacing fixture on the upper, much like the other tonal version we showed you during our Nike Sportswear Fall/Winter 2011 Preview. This sample Sky Force ’88 Mid also features a white inner lining and partial logo on the tongue. Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 – Rajon Rondo Celtics PE

Rajon Rondo has emerged as the improbable future of select NBA point guards, joining the likes of Chris Paul and Deron Williams thanks to his passing and defense. While he may not be the most prolific scorer, he’s got the tools to be one of the best true point-guards of our generation, and to have him as one of the representatives of the Nike Hyperfuse 2011 is a smart move by the swoosh. Here’s a look at Rondo’s Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 PE; it features a two-toned green/black upper with a white swoosh and Rondo’s minimal ’9′ logo on the tongue. You can expect Rondo to wear these once the 2011-12 NBA Season kicks off later this year, but there should be more Hyperfuse 2011 PEs on the way for all of Nike’s top athletes. Reebok Harrier Weathermax

The word ‘harrier’ has an attacking connotation, from the Webster’s definition to the McDonald Douglas jet designed for use by the armed forces. And in the case of the Reebok Harrier, the model name had been used for spikes used to assault an oval track. But it’s being taken in a new direction, namely off the track and onto a path through the wilderness. Here’s our first look at the Reebok Harrier Weathermax, a rugged trail runner those two above-pictured colorways are set to hit retailers in the coming months. We just saw the slimmed-down, deconstructed look on a pack of OTW Larkins for fall, and now the sleek construction will be carried over to the California collection. Check out these Vans California Chukka Del Barco Decons for Q3, a model whose no-nonsense suede designs nicely compliment the leaner silhouette. adidas Originals Hardland Hi.

When the adidas Originals Hardland released late last year, we made the obvious connection between the model’s vulcanized sole and the love/hate relationship they share with skatebaorders. You (occasionally) land hard in vulc soles, and this latest release might even be good for the occasional trek across ‘hard’ lands. The latest Hardland release won’t be your best bet for hiking this summer due to its largely white construction, though its hiking boot-style D-ring eyelets offer a rugged edge. Perhaps they’re fit for use in the urban jungle (and they certainly remind us of Nike Sport Culture’s similarly-colored pack by that same name from ’08).
