Nike has partnered up with Ronaldo on a new collection that runs from high end soccer gear to more street ready sneakers. Our pick from the pack is the Nike Street Gato CR7, a special reworking of the indoor soccer shoe that gets the full Ronaldo treatment. Inspired by his affinity for clean white designer sneakers, this pair goes with a set of milky tones on the upper along with some black and red hits to tie in with his Real Madrid uni. Of all the colorways shown off at the Nike Las Vegas Penny Signature Pack event a couple weeks back, we’ve seen more of the Nike Air Foamposite One in its ‘Metallic Red’ getup than all the others combined. This new pair of  Foam Ones could easily represent the ‘Cranberry’ flavor we’re so used to around the holiday season, but they’re more likely to be linked to those ‘Be Mine’ candy hearts given the release’s proximity to Valentine’s Day. From the looks of the fall and winter previews we've shown you here on Sneaker News, it appears various Native American and Mexican woven textiles will play a significant role moving forward. Here's a new Converse Chuck Taylor All Star that while not a Mexican Blanket or obvious Indian design also features a woven upper. It's a tonal red weave so from afar they might have the vaguest appearance of horizontal striping, but up close you get an appreciation for the various patterns on the sides. Is Penny Hardaway's Nike Sportswear signature line even stronger today than when he lead the Swoosh basketball roster in the mid/late '90s? You could certainly sleep at night arguing that opinion with the variety of retro and hybrid releases in the past couple years providing the youngsters a rainbow road to the past and one of the all-time great 'could've been . . . ' careers. The Penny hybridization began in 2009 with the Nike Air Half Cent, and while it looks as if the Zoom Rookie will be next to retail, here's hoping the above pictured model isn't too far off.
